The F40 is more than worthy of being the first car in this classic's section as it was made because as Enzo Ferrari got older he was aware that Ferrari were not as involved in motorsport as they were when they were first formed. He wanted to see this change so came up with the idea of the F40. It war designed to rival the porsche 959 and there were to be only 400 made all in red. Having such a lightweight car (1100 kg) with almost 500bhp results in a 0-60mph time and a record breaking 201 mph top speed. It was the last car to be commissioned by Enzo Ferrari.

The Jaguar E-Type was made between the years of 1961 and 1974. It came in 3 diffrent series's ( seris 1 1961-1968, seris 2 1969-1972 and series 3 1971-1974) as well as a few limited edition models including the Low Drag Coupe (1962) and the Lightweight E-Type (1963-1964). Before the series 2 was released there was an improved version of the series 1 called the series 1 ½ .

The Aston Martin DB5 was released in 1963 and is most famous for appearing in several James Bond movies including Goldfinger, Thunderball, GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies as well as having a role in Casino Royale. The main difference between the DB5 and the DB4 is the engine. Despite this it is not a fast car by modern standards with a 0-60 time of 8.1 seconds and a top speed of 143 mph. It is the slowest car on the Top Gear Power Laps board.
